Step back in time and uncover the secrets of the Earth! In this paleontology-themed class, students will explore how fossils form, what they can teach us about prehistoric life, and how scientists use clues from rocks and bones to piece together the past. Through observation, inquiry, and hands-on discovery, learners will develop a deeper appreciation for Earth science, geology, and the ancient history buried beneath our feet. This class sparks curiosity and a sense of adventure as students dig into the science of the past.
Set on a hobby farm on the outskirts of New Braunfels, students will collaborate with peers as they explore and observe the natural world around them. This class provides opportunities to interact with animals, investigate the garden, and engage in authentic, sensory-rich experiences. With animals in the classroom and plenty of outdoor exploration, students will connect science concepts to real-life encounters in a fun and meaningful way.
Each day, in addition to the day's topics, students will have time outside, weather permitting. Students will need a sack lunch, water bottle, and closed-toe shoes. A snack will be provided.
