When the sun goes down, the world doesn’t go to sleep—some creatures are just getting started! In this animal science class, students will explore the fascinating lives of nocturnal animals and discover how they thrive in the dark. From special senses to nighttime habits, learners will investigate how these creatures adapt to their environments and why being active at night gives them an edge. With a focus on life science and animal adaptations, this class will shine a light on the hidden world of creatures that come out when we head to bed.
Set on a hobby farm on the outskirts of New Braunfels, students will collaborate with peers as they explore and observe the natural world around them. This class provides opportunities to interact with animals, investigate the garden, and engage in authentic, sensory-rich experiences. With animals in the classroom and plenty of outdoor exploration, students will connect science concepts to real-life encounters in a fun and meaningful way.
Each day, in addition to the day's topics, students will have time outside, weather permitting. Students will need a sack lunch, water bottle, and closed-toe shoes. A snack will be provided.
