Get ready to dig into the earth and discover what makes rocks so cool! In this class, students will explore the different types of rocks—igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic—and learn how they form and change over time. Through hands-on activities, young geologists will investigate rock properties like texture, color, and hardness, and learn how rocks tell stories about Earth’s past. This class provides a fun and interactive way to spark curiosity about geology and the forces that shape our planet.
Set on a hobby farm on the outskirts of New Braunfels, students will collaborate with peers as they explore and observe the natural world around them. This class provides opportunities to interact with animals, investigate the garden, and engage in authentic, sensory-rich experiences. With animals in the classroom and plenty of outdoor exploration, students will connect science concepts to real-life encounters in a fun and meaningful way.
Each day, in addition to the day's topics, students will have time outside, weather permitting. Students will need a sack lunch, water bottle, and closed-toe shoes. A snack will be provided.
