Colors are more than just what meets the eye! In this vibrant class, students will explore the science behind color through the lens of chromatography—a process scientists use to separate mixtures. By investigating how colors are made and how they can be broken down, learners will gain a deeper understanding of chemistry, art, and the natural world. This colorful journey blends science and creativity, encouraging students to ask questions, make predictions, and observe changes with curiosity and wonder.
Set on a hobby farm on the outskirts of New Braunfels, students will collaborate with peers as they explore and observe the natural world around them. This class provides opportunities to interact with animals, investigate the garden, and engage in authentic, sensory-rich experiences. With animals in the classroom and plenty of outdoor exploration, students will connect science concepts to real-life encounters in a fun and meaningful way.
Each day, in addition to the day's topics, students will have time outside, weather permitting. Students will need a sack lunch, water bottle, and closed-toe shoes. A snack will be provided.
